Issues with tool paths - Fusion 360 to Centroid totally diffrent. <solved>

Hi

With my machine running now i am moving onto getting some cutting done but i have the issue of the tool paths being completely different in Centroid from what they are showing in Fusion 360.

As you can see from the attached photos, i have my tool path in fusion 360 to cut a test part, face the front, turn the OD and then cut a chamfer but in Centroid the tool paths are mirrored, it passes through the part at the beginning and cuts in reverse?

When you look at the CNC G code file ("1001.cnc") in a text editor, are the X coordinates mostly positive, or mostly negative?

When your machine is at home (e.g. just after homing, or after you have pressed Tool Check to return to the G28 position) what is the X coordinate shown on the DRO?

I should of added the file (Please see attached) and I've taken a photo of the DRO right after homing.

The picture of the F360 part has the X and Z wrong in the setup. Z should be towards or away from the chuck. X is the cross slide.

When you are at home (and, I am guessing, when you are at the G28 position) you are at X-77.672mm.

Your program cuts on the positive X side of the part.

The tool has to get from the negative side to the positive side somehow.

Perhaps if you posted a Report, then we could see whether you are homing X in the positive direction or in the negative direction, or whether you are not homing X at all; and where your part zero is set; and where your G28 position is set; and whether you are configured for gang tools (which would have different tools cutting from both sides of spindle centerline); and what your tool offsets are like.

The significant negative Z value at home is troubling as well.

Hi guys

I've attached my most recent report.

I think i have my part orientated correctly in Fusion 360

Considering my cross slide only has 85mm of movement i can see what you mean about that huge negative, i think that is related to the tool path in the graph where it's trying to move to the complete other side of the part. (Which i don't want)

I homed the machine, jogged the tool over to the stock so it barley touched the OD, went into F1 set up and put the parts diameter in, is that wrong?

My machine position is accurate, at max X it shows what it should.

I went through the part set up again and everything is doubled, if the machine moves 35mm the current position says it moves 70mm?

If you are referring to the X axis, then that is correct as the X-Axis is set to diameter mode (the circle and line next to the X in the DRO). 35mm off the radius is 70mm off the diameter.

One less thing to contend with then, thank you. Still stumped why the red line travels all the way through the part and then comes back on it's self, if i wasn't cutting air for testing purposes it would just crash into the billet.

I'm guessing my X axis needs to be flipped so positive is facing away from the tool?
