Received my package for Centroid Acorn/Plasma today, also received new NUC PC, and picked up a new 24x24x6 enclosure from my old company, nice seeing some of the crew again!
Will start layout tomorrow.

Unpacked package, short (1) 7 pin green connector for THC.
Made stand offs out of din rail flipped over, with nylon spacers. Removed cord from Acorn power supply, and made a short din rail for all 120vac and grounds, installed 3amp din rail circuit breaker as on/off and short protection on line voltage side.
Kinda playing around with layout. I am using Teknic Clearpath SDK, so no drives inside controller cabinet.

Was the green connector at the end of the power supply cable? That's where mine was.

A few pointers since I just finished my plasma retrofit with Clearpath motors a few days ago:

- remember to keep the RX and TX boards as far apart as possible in your layout.
- does your Z axis motor have a motor brake or counter balance? If not consider wiring the orange "enable" lead for this axis to COM so it's enabled as
soon as the motor powers up. If not it'll drop when ever you press estop, the reset button or the breakaway trips and when you shut down. I wired
mine to enable as soon as it powers up and then I can remove my mechanical stop.
- dont forget the 100 ohm 1/2 watt resistors for the motors, you'll need 12 of them.

I wired two Clearpath motors to the third axis output as I plan on adding a rotary axis to the 4th output. The system was designed with a 4th rotary axis from ShopSabre but it was missing as I bought this used at auction. I have all the cables ready to go to add a 4th rotary axis.

Good luck and thanks for posting.

Has anyone used the CNC4PC C86ACCP card (Clearpath SDSK) with the Plasma application? I see there is a wiring diagram base on using this card. My 2nd question is: Are the 100ohm .5watt resistors required when using the above referenced interface card, or is that built into it?

I don’t know of any other beta tester using one yet. Why do you want to use this board? Do you think it’ll be easier?

Frankly it’s just not needed and is just another part that can fail. Have you heard the term KISS? Keep it simple stupid. I’m not at all calling you stupid as I don’t know but rather making a point. I know there are many who’ve used this board on other CNC machines and I’ve seen a lot of topics and posts asking questions on how to get it to work. I just wired 4 Clearpath motors on my plasma table directly to the Acorn headers with the required resistors and it worked perfectly the first time. Why complicate the issue with yet another part that can fail? Just my two cents so take it at face value.

Thanks for the input as usual. Correct me if I am wrong, would I not get better diagnostics when a drive fails (visual led)? Also the wiring diagram from Centroid shows an external board monitoring the faults, then wired into a single input on Acorn. Isn't this C86ACCP board eliminating another board?
