How to resolve IP address issue bench test failed. (Resolved)

Post by BillB »

I ran my bench test and Acorn will not connect to the PC. I checked twice that the PC is Correctly set up, all win updates are current, Acorns heartbeat is live and active, ALL LEDS are on on both Acorn and the relay board, and I have LEDs on both ethernet ports. When booting up CNC12 there is no communication I get the error as seen in the picture. As per the message I restarted cnc 12 several times with same the results, also rebooted the PC. As per bench test video I ran the Ping test and it has failed.

So how do I resolve the ip address to establish communication?

One other thing I'm wondering about is that this is a used PC and the previous users name is coming up in the command prompt user name as seen in the picture. Would this cause an issue? Note I have created my own user account under admin and that is the account I did all the set up under.

Do I need to be in my username directory when running the ping test?
If yes how to I change directories, in DOS it's been way to long I don't remember anything in dos.

Added info on this issue. I watched martys vid on network trouble shooting. There is no LAN set up, on this computer. Again this PC is purchased used but has a fresh win 10 install.

Not sure if need to manually install a LAN connection?

Bill
In the 1st photo of your second post above, right-click the Ethernet Unknown Network and click Properties from the pop-up menu.

It should be set as follows:
IP settings.JPG
Once done, rerun the ping test and confirm.
Hope this helps
