325 Limit Error

Hello,

I am trying to see if anyone else has run into the 325 Limit Error. I searched the forum but couldn't find anything specific to my issue.

I have a DIY router I built. It is a gantry style with the y table moving below and the x moving across the gantry and z moving up and down on the x carriage. I ran 3 test cuts and all 3 successfully cut in the air. The issue comes when I begin cutting material (plastic to start). One ran perfectly the first time. One ran into some 325 limit errors but eventually finished cutting. The last one hasn't run to the end, prompting this post. The 325 Limit Errors would occur in random locations throughout the cut. From previous forum posts, the diagnosis seems to relate to the actual limit switches, but I'm not sure that's happening here.

I am using 3 NPN photointerrupter as limit switches for the X, Y, and Z home, and soft limits for overtravel. To test whether actual limits were tripped, I started my program, pressed feed hold, and tripped the limits. The error message from those tests were 407 and it specifies the specific limit that was tripped. When I get the 325 error, it does not specify which limit is tripped, leading me to think it does not relate to the physical limits.

Here is a link to the Acorn report and photos of the system and limit switches.

Does anyone have an idea what this 325 limit error can be?
Thanks in advance.

the message log has a ton of Z axis travel exceeded messages,, this is the soft limit message. so your WSC for Z 0 is set wrong, or your program is calling for more travel than the current zero position will allow or your tool height offset value is wrong or a combination of all three.
post a copy of the offending g code program please.

Please, always upload the report here. I went to the link you provided and could not easily download it.
Your report contains your machine parameters and logs and helps us to see if you made any configuration errors.
Keith managed to get it open.

Is your issue resolved or are you still having trouble?

Hi Keith,

Here's the 3 NC code mentioned in the original post. 1002 finished on the first try. 1001 and 1003 experienced the random 325 errors but eventually finished cutting, after restarting the program several times. All three programs successfully air cut on the first try, 1 inch above the part.

Hi Marty,

Here's the report from the link.

Thanks in advance, Arin

I just ran a slightly modified version of 1003 (decreased feedrate) and errored out. Here's the fresh report and new NC code.

When you load your program
Set your part zeros
Do you press F8 to GRAPH your part BEFORE running the job? Do you get an error when you do or no?

Are these the travels of your machine? (Soft limits):
CNC12 v. 4.64 coordinates file
Axis Minus Plus Return Return Return Return
Limit Limit #1(G28) #2(G30) #3 #4
X 0.0000 20.6693 0.00000 0.00000 0.00000 0.00000
Y 0.0000 10.8268 0.00000 0.00000 0.00000 0.00000
Z -6.8898 0.0000 0.00000 0.00000 0.00000 0.00000

we did press F8 before running the job, and there was no error. Yes, soft limits are correct.

Is it only happening on Z?
Is the Z home/limit switch at the top of the Z axis?

With all of those Z limit errors, I would think either noise or some sort of mechanical vibration is causing false triggers of your Z axis limit switch.
