Delta ASDA-B2
Hi, I noticed that acorn hookup schematics support Delta ASDA-A2, but couldn’t find anything related to B2. Given that B2 drives are half the price of A2 and that they are very close in price to better closed loop stepper systems, I was wondering if anyone knows if B2 should work with Acorn?
Thank you,
Bruno

Re: Delta ASDA-B2
Centroid doesn't have much experience with the B2 model. They look like they should work. Step and direction pulse form is supported according to the manual. The main connector (CN1) is different than on the A2, so you will have to change the wiring from existing schematics.

B2 works fine with Acorn.

Re: Delta ASDA-B2
Nate,
If you have used the B2 with Acorn, can you supply your pinouts and a report from your system?
That would be a tremendous help.
Thanks!
Marty

Re: Delta ASDA-B2
I will be happy to do such. I am installing an acorn and delta servos on my mil this weekend and will have to recreate what I did with my 10ee lathe, so I will be sure to write everything down this time.

That would be great Nate. Then perhaps we can ask Centroid to creat a schematic for them.AnnArborNate wrote: ↑Fri Aug 06, 2021 12:28 pm I will be happy to do such. Re: Delta ASDA-B2
That’s wonderful. Seller I’m talking to is reluctant to sell those drives to DIY people as he is not sure everyone can set them up. If you can provide any details here once you get the mill working I’ll be more confident in going the servo route as opposed to hybrid stepper system.
Thanks again,
Bruno

In this case the drive parameter settings, tuning info and wiring diagram for Acorn.
Centroid will usually create a schematic with that information once its proven out.
Where are the Delta ASDA-B2 drives and motors coming from? Are they genuine Delta?

Re: Delta ASDA-B2
I believe they are. Usually north/west European vendors are reputable when it comes to these things.
