It's all documented in the ProbeApp User Manual

Post here if the instructions are not clear enough and I'll improve them.

Hey Swissi,

I finally got around to following your instructions to migrate after update to v4.62. I do not have a probe app button to push in my VCP like I did with v4.5. More instructions needed.

Thanks

When you restore a report file from an older version of CNC12 that had the ProbeApp icon on the VCP, that button should migrate over to the new version.

If you did a fresh install without restoring a report file, you need to copy the files in the folder c:\cncm\resources\vcp\Buttons\M58 from your old install over to the same folder in the new install, overwriting the existing files. The ProbeApp button will show up after a CNC12 restart.

Hope that helps.

Well I followed the instructions given. Still no button on the VCP. I guess I do a fresh install on the Probe App and go from there?

What you can try is to do a Windows Uninstall of the ProbeAppSetup and then run a new ProbeApp install. The uninstall will not delete the ProbeApp.cfg file that contains all your settings so all your current settings should stay intact after the reinstall.

If that still doesn't bring the ProbeApp icon back, there's something corrupt with your VCP configuration.

I just followed the instructions given. And they are Simple.

I restored v4.5 report and I have no custom PLC files. The only non-stock file on the control is the probe-app.

I just did a fresh install and restored the v4,5 report WITHOUT selecting custom PLC. Probe-app button is there now.

I copied the probe file. Pasted the file to v4.62 . All is normal now.

Even though the VCP may have a button or two I don’t need, I am not interested in playing with the VCP to get rid of them. I don’t have the time. And everything works just fine. This is the forth time I needed to update in a year. I just hate messing with programs, updates, especially when I am not having any issues.
