Acorn time base turret Emco 5
I have a problem with setting up the turret control. No output from output 2 when a tool change is sent (MDI). Use the schematic from Acorn CNC site. Also notice that all references is for version 4.1 I am use the latest 4.5 CNC12. Also no assign name to #2 output or input. Using a proximity sensor for homing of the tool turret. (High 24vdc when closed). Also I have read all post in reference to the time base sensor. Another thing Marty mention a zip file needs to be loaded is this still needed with ver. 4,5? If so where can I download this zip for the PLC?

They are in the Knowledge Base Forum. Top of the page:

Your sensor needs to SINK the acorn input to ground (NPN not PNP)
Marty
(Been awhile since I did that video, make sure you use the correct voltages to the turret motor)

Good luck....read the instructions that should be included with the package.
Starting to work on brakes today...hopefully. Have a bit of Centroid testing to do....

Re: Acorn time base turret Emco 5
Well everything seems to work with the exception of MDI tool change command. It will index to home with the MDI M18 Command and the index button on the control panel will advance the changer forward one position.
Any ideas what I am doing incorrectly?

Re: Acorn time base turret Emco 5
I tried the tool change on MDI T0101 ETC. with no movement of the turret. I reloaded the program and all the files from the zip but still the same problem no movement from the turret only in the turret index on the VCP. At this point I have ran out of ideas.

Can you use the VCP button to INDEX TURRET to move it?Jr914 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 07, 2020 5:29 pm I tried the tool change on MDI T0101 ETC. with no movement of the turret. How are you controlling the output required for forward and reversing the turret at different voltages?
Did you follow the attached schematic?
