With the miraculous help of tab completion and a healthy bit of carelessness via the console, mpucomp.exe overwrote mpu11.hex and not mpu.plc. CNC11 then loaded this bad firmware upon restart and now my mpu11 is not booting.
Restoring mpu11.hex from an earlier backup and restarting CNC11 does not seem to be much use. Only the 5V LED is on.
Since the board is not available via ethernet, I assume I will need to rescue things by interfaceing with the board over a serial connection. Can someone please provide instruction and the pin-out I may need.
