If some one here could point me in the right direction. Doing a bench test on my All in one and spindlebechtest.cnc is not in the directory. Follow directions to go to link but I/m not getting spindlebenchtest.cnc, I'm getting spindlebenchtest.cnc/txt. Is this the program? I pasted it into the directory and when I hit alt-s nothing is happening. Bob

Delete the .txt extension leaving just the .cnc extension.

No dice. Says in the directory it's a text file. I know I went to the right place to down load it.

And, you probably did download the correct file. Spindle bench test IS a text file. It just needs a .CNC extension instead of a .txt extension.

A lot of BBSs will not allow file types they don't recognize (like .cnc) to be uploaded. The easiest way around this is to change the extension to something else like .txt to upload.

I have down loaded this file six times to today. I changed the ext. It shows it as a Text file no matter what I do. There is not another file in that directory that says text but this one. It don't work. Another Saturday shot out the ass. Bob

If you have not already done so, it is helpful to set your Windows systems to show, rather than hide, file extensions.

By default, Windows hides file extensions for "known file types". With that default setting, you might think you are renaming "test" to "test.cnc", but in fact you are renaming "test.txt" to "test.cnc.txt".

That subject is apparently covered in the above video, but if you don't have the patience to watch a 3-minute video to learn a simple procedure, here it is:

Press the Start menu key. In the entry box, type "File Explorer Options", the click on the Control Panel component which appears in response to that search.

In the resulting "File Explorer Options" dialog box, click on the second tab, "View".

In the lower part of the View tab, under "Advanced settings", scroll down in the list until you see "Hide extensions for known file types". Uncheck the box next to that option. Click "Ok".

Now you should have an easier time telling what your files are really named.

I had a similar problem as well, as well as when I did the copy and paste it was coming in as one line title line included. Look at the bottom of the screen and look at the line count. It should not be one. The whole cure was a little fuzzy for me to understand but the good people here got me straightened out.

Good afternoon folks, Thanks Marty for the extension. Got it loaded. Is it ok to use the VCP temporarily so I can use the reset button instead of alt I?
I still have a white screen that says Machine set up not complete. It says here to home the machine. I must have missed something. The moment I hit Alt-S, I get 412 MPG1 encoder error. If you guys could help me though this hurtle it would be appreciated. Bob
