Acorn Wizard Not Loading -- Now with Windows 10 -- <resolved-- Fixed w/ 4.20.1 old CPU support added>

Post by briuz »

Hello,

When I upgraded to 4.2 I encountered this problem after reloading the report.zip file as instructed for an upgrade. So, I just re-installed the software and added everything manually. Things seemed to work fine until today. (Maybe I couldn't get back into the wizard before but didn't know it.) Anyhow, today I couldn't load the wizard again. So, I tried loading my original report.zip file after I installed the software and could get back into the wizard. After configuring the Acorn for my lathe (again) I now can't get back into the wizard.

A screenshot of the error message is attached as well as the report.zip file. Re-installing the software works....until I configure Acorn for my lathe. Any ideas?

Thanks!

thanks for posting the report.zip.. the report says the CNCPC is running on Windows 7 Ultimate. which is not supported. Use Windows 10.
please review the CNCPC requirements AND the Window 10 setup procedure for CNCPC use here..

Hello,

I "upgraded" to Windows 10. Same problem. New report.zip file attached. Thanks!

How are you starting the Wizard? The Wizard is now launched from within CNC12.
From a fresh CNC12 startup,
From the main screen with NO job running
Press F7 Utility
Press F10 Acorn Wizard
I noted three icons in your task bar in the screen shot you posted...and I see the Wizard splash screen but you are not in the Utility menue (F7)
Reminder, for support please follow this post: viewtopic.php?f=20&t=383
We can't "SEE" what you see...

Hello,

That's the way I've always loaded the wizard. I just tried it again and all I did was to run CNC12, press F7, press F10. Same error. I did not even home the machine.

Thanks!

Hello,

I double-checked and my account is part of the administrators group and running the software using Run as Admin makes no difference. I also found some files were set as read-only and unchecked the box on those files. There was no change and the wizard still doesn't run.

Thanks!
