Macro for Probing a Boss

Has anybody written a basic macro for probing a boss they would be willing to share? I'd like to touch off 4 sides and return to center, then I can manually zero my X and Y. I am doing some work milling from rod stock mounted vertically and am finding it tedious (and maybe not so accurate) to eyeball X and Y centerlines and use the probe to face feature.

Thanks!

If you have a probe in Setup F1, Part F1, F5 Probe there is a cycle for probing a boss. It allows to you to chose which side to start. You enter the rough size of the boss and clearance amount to move Z up from the starting Z to clear the boss. It will center over the boss and give you the diameter of the boss. You then use part setup to set X and Y 0.0 or the value you want the center of the boss to be.

cnc12 has built in probing cycles. Bore, Boss, Slot, Web, Inside Corner, Outside Corner, Single Axis, Find Edge. easy push button operation.
They are covered in the Operators Manual as well.

like dana said they are all located in the Probing Screen, to go there. press F1 Setup, F1 Part, F5 Probe and you will see them all.

Thank you for your replies. All of the built in probing cycles are greyed out except single axis and bore. I thought I needed to buy the digitization package to unlock the rest, which is tough for me to justify the cost since I only need the boss function. Am I mistaken?

Despite all the expansive sales traffic in between, I get the impression that is what he was asking for....

That is correct Muzzer. I will try to write one and if successful I will share it here.

Can you describe the issue a more? I find probing a boss fairly simple and repeatable. Maybe show a picture?
