homing : limit switches one wire
At chapter 6.6 homing my machine. My limit switches all trip correctly. i am unable to continue the homing functions ad only three switches are used- so X+ and X- trip at same time. Your suggestions please. (this machine was converted from Anilam II )

Re: homing : limit switches one wire
You cannot use the same switch as both a plus and a minus limit.
You will have to choose in which one direction you want to use the existing switch as a limit. You will probably want to choose based on your preferred homing directions (e.g. minus on X, plus on Y, plus on Z).
Then you will either have to defeat the opposite limits (leaving those PLC inputs disconnected) and rely on the software travel limits to stop you short of overtravel in that direction; or you will need to install separate switches to trip at the other end of each axis.

Did you upgrade to All in One DC or Acorn?warnerr wrote: ↑Mon Oct 07, 2019 4:44 pm B61AE624-9DB6-4994-B6EA-E8DA54AE99D4.jpegAt chapter 6.6 homing my machine. We are assuming All in One DC because you posted in this forum.
Why are you needing to configure your machine this way? You have one switch and two trippers for each end of the axis?
You could use one switch per axis for limit/home, and use soft limits for the other end.

Re: homing : limit switches one wire
Thanks! cncsnw explained it pretty well and youve agreed that i can mechanical one end and software other limits. thanks for your inputs. I am so close to having this project online! This has bern a fun build! The allinonedc manual is by far the best documented product ive put together and the support here is fantastic. Thanks to all!
