x and Z handwheels on Ez-path Retro fit

Post by b_m_foster »

I am finishing up the final install of the allin1dc upgrade to an older Bridgeport Ez-Path Romi lathe. So far the only problems I am having is that I have not been able to get the handwheels to work on the machine. I can see the encoders are working in the PID screen, they are plugged into the 3 and 4 spot in the encoders positions. All instructions say the PLC program needs to be changed but everything that I have tried does not work. I have attached the report from my unit before I started changing the PLC program.

Have you pressed the MPG button on the control panel to turn on the handwheels?
Cheers,

Tom
Confidence is the feeling you have before you fully understand the situation.
I have CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are where they should be.

Yes, when pressed the MPG button does not light up like the other features do. I can look at the inputs and see that MPGKey goes on and off when being pressed but the MPGLED does not come on in the outputs. I am assuming there is something in the PLC program keeping this from being able to be turned on but have not found anything yet.

You need to set Parameter 218 back to zero.

I have set 218 back to zero and that allows the MPGLED to come on now but there is still no movement when the hand wheels are turned. The PID screen show them counting correctly though.
