Hi Folks,

Just getting to know my new to me Mori Seiki SL1 with a Centroid 10 controller.

I understand how to set tool offsets for normal tools and it seems to work well, but I have a Left hand profile tool to do back face of shoulders and when I set the cutting face at zero it cuts an inch or so in the +Z all other tools go where they should.

What am I missing?

Thanks,

Nose vector = 4?

Set Z Reference on a stock face with your chosen reference tool?

Then touch the back-facing tool to the left side of a straight edge held against the Z Reference face and F2/measure there?

Hello CNCSNW,

Thank you very much for your help.

I did exactly that, but the tool ends up nearly and inch in the +Z direction. The nose vector does not seem to have any effect. I am using a program generated by hsmworks, the simulation puts the tool in the right place.

Happy day,
Jake
