I was reading on the post "Drag Plot Explanation" looking to clear the screen see attached photo. Ok maybe a bad move on my part but I backed into checking the Gib adjustment on my 1995 Revolution bed mill with new control.
So now I hope to clear the Drag plot history. I did read on the post Drag Plot Explanation delete the some file but not sure were to find it?
It looks as I need to look at my Y axis as t is bad out. I have not messed with the gib on it but plan on doing some looking into why it is so tight.

The files are named "drag_x.out", "drag_y.out", "drag_z.out", etc.. They are located in the control software directory.

You can just delete them for a fresh start, or you can selectively edit them to remove some results (maybe leaving the oldest and newest). They are plain text files.

fyi.. Y axis tightness near the ballscrew support bearing is typically caused by 2 things
1.) misalignment of ballscrew support bearing housing relative to the machine tool Y axis ways which causes binding when ball nut approaches end of travel.
2.) ways (if so equipped) have worn into an hour glass shape (most used part typically is the center of the machine) and gibs have been adjusted for that area, but then are too tight for the ends of the travel.

its important to get #1 right first before doing anything else. too often machine owners jump to the conclusion that the gibs need adjusted, and sometimes dig a big hole for themselves.

I have don more research on geb adjustment. I am working in them one at a time trying not to get over my head.
Currently I am working on the Y axis. not to long ago I replaced the SEM servo with a Centroid I see that it takes more power to move the table.

My new question is on the Drag Plot can the % of load be incorrect I mean the scale of measurement? I have seen that the X requires more torque to move the table than the Y but the Drag Plot shows that it has to much drag.

Any added help would be great!!

the Y axis takes more power to move.

And it must not be the gibs casing to much drag. the old graf is with gibs real tight and the yellow is wit them real lose.
