No connection to Acorn after few months of no use

So, I have too many hobbies...and I move around between them. I have a CNC router that I built and control with an Acorn. I've made quite a bit of stuff with it, but I haven't used it for about 4 months now. I use the Windows 10 laptop for some other hobby-related stuff (controlling my laser engraver), but it isn't a "general use" laptop. Updates are current.

I'm wanting to get back to some CNC stuff, so I connected the laptop to the CNC. But, when I try to start CNC12 I get the no connection message and it closes. There is a heartbeat on the Acorn, link light on both ethernet ports, and the traffic LEDs flash on both. I've disabled firewall, disabled virus, and rebooted the PC/restarted the Acorn.

What am I missing? Anybody else in a similar situation that might have some ideas?

Thanks,
Wally

Thanks, I'll try that when I can get back to it later in the week. I do remember seeing that .1 address on the PCs ethernet port.

Most likely cause is Windows Defender has turned on your firewall, especially if you don,t have cncm.exe listed as an exception

In training this week, couldn't test things. But, I took my laptop and added cncm.exe and other executables in the directory to Defender exceptions. Tried it real quick after getting home - connected right away!

Thanks,
