Grrr. punch a couple holes in the wall, not really but i could. Sometimes i think tech is going to destroy us all. ok rant over.

ghack,

I had this happen one time and one time only. I'm not sure why it happened but I think it had to do with me not setting up my tools in a "local library".

I've had several fusion 360 upgrades and I've not lost anything for over a year now, maybe a little less than a year, but all settings have remained since that one issue.

You have the option to also save your work to your own computer.

NYCCNC has some good videos on some of this if you have time to watch them!

From what i gather even you own copies are time limited. As far as the tool library i do not know i didn't do anything different than i did before. Im terrible at organization dont really want to to setup my own library. lol has to do with my TBI

I've never experienced anything like that in F360. I'm pretty sure if you save a file locally it's not time-limited (it is as offline cache from autosaves but if you save it I'm pretty sure nothing will happen to it). I have 1 f3d file on my desktop for like 6 months now and it's still just fine.

About tool library, all tools you create are saved locally (somewhere in C:\Users\%whoami%\AppData\Local\Fusion 360 CAM). But if you want to export your library to move it to other PC or to have a hard copy you can easily export it in fusion (click tool library under cam workspace, on left side select folder you'd like to export, right click and export tool library). Same with import (just click on import obviously :))

You can create your own tool library same way, right click on "Local" and make "New tool library", you can make tools either by making it from scratch or just edit one from a sample and save it under your new folder (library).

I'm not sure what happens with CAM when you save the file locally (never tried to save file with CAM made) but I believe it will be saved aswell.

EDIT: to open that folder you might need to make sure hidden folders are shown. To do so if you're using windows 10:
1) open any folder
2) In ribbon (upper bar) select View section and on right side you have checkbox "Hidden items" then you will be able to see appdata folder.

The OS probably isn't as important as specs of the computer itself. If you have a workstation with a CAD graphics card (as opposed to a gaming card), it will likely perform well. That said, while the difference in video cards used to be drastic, today it is substantially less noticeable with the huge computing power available.

I realize this is slightly dated but have you looked on the cloud to see if it is still there?
On your control panel to the left, at the top will be your name. Click on that and it will take you directly to your account.
Not there, then it is back to the forum to ask what next.
Oh, and sometimes the time honored reboot can fix things.
