m400 boot up

looking for help on a boot up issue:
got this message and don't know what to do
10ev/hda1 unexpected inconsistency
run fsck manually
(i.e. without -a or -p option)
file system errors still exits manual intervention required sh-2.05#
can someone help

That's a Linux boot message telling you something is wrong with the hard disk. Fsck is the Linus File System ChecK utility that will examine the disk for errors and try to mark them as bad.

Even if it does "fix" the disk, it's probably old enough that it will fail again soon. You might consider replacing it since they are now less than $100.
