Sticky Jog Buttons

I am using Acorn with a touch screen monitor.
I have noted on a number of occasions when I am jogging an axis and let my finger off the screen jog button the machine keeps going until I hit the button again or hit the opposite direction button. Is this most likely a touch screen issue or something else. Any ideas how to correct this problem?

Thank you for posting this. I thought I was imagining it happening, but can confirm that on occasion that an axis will keep moving after the button is released

from my experience its touch screen/PC related. you can test it by using <Alt J> and jog with the keyboard and see what the response is like using the keyboard.

make sure you have latest drivers installed for starters.
and some touch screen drivers have software with feature and functionality settings that you can tweak etc..

Do make sure the screen is clean. No coolant or anything splashed on the screen. While I have not experienced it, I understand capacitive touch screens are susceptible to going a little wonky with shtuff on the screen.
I can't say that I have experienced what you have.
Can you share what make and model monitor you are using to see if anyone else has one is or has experienced it?

I have the same Asus monitor and see this behavior on occasion but it’s intermittent. However, I believe the cause for me is my PC. I am still trying to get it to be reliable...that’s been a long road travelled.

I have several of those and not noticed anything odd. I will pay more attention....

I will also do a little more testing. IVe done over a dozen controls with touch screen. Resistive is a no brainer, the capacitive with "multi touch gestures" which mimic smart phone actions prove to more finicky for cnc use.
On another control system the only way the arrow jog keys will work properly is to press > roll finger for continuous motion. I'm wondering if that what happening here that another (slight unintended) motion is sending a "button lock" signal, as another button press always releases it and motion stops.
BTW: My experiences are ASUS and Acer in the consumer grade capacitive screens and ELO for the resistive.
