Looking at a used machine with M400 control. Has a 5 axis Troyke 5 axis setup.

Does the M400 control handle the 5 axis probing, or is the 5 axis probing handled by the CAM?

It depends on when the control was set up.

If it is a ca. 1996 M400 control running CNC7, then the control handles the probing.
If it is a ca. 2015 M400 control running CNC11, then I am pretty sure Mastercam posts the probing programs.

Find out the control serial number, then call Centroid's Performance Racing group and ask.

Where can I tell owner to look for M400 version, and control serial number if it's different than system id?
