Axis direction problem when using the Touch (3D) Probe

Hi, I have Axis direction problem when using the Touch (3D) Probe.
Software: v5.30

I have carefully checked the mill's axis set up per the ISO standard.
On my mill:
+X axis button on the display causes the table to move to the right when viewed from the front of the mill.

+Y axis button on the display causes the table to move toward the column when viewed from the front of the mill.

-Z axis button on the display causes the spindle to move toward the table.

When using Probe F5:
Probe cycle Web example

With the web's illustration showing the web oriented along the Y axis (oriented from front to rear) and the red probe tip showing on the left hand side of the web. When running this cycle the table moves to the right (+X), to find the right edge of the web.
How can this be corrected?

Your help will be appreciated.

Bob

Sharing a photo of your mill would help, but normally, +X should have the table moving towards the LEFT when standing in front of the machine. This is because the standards are based on "tool" movement, so the table moving gives apparent tool moving to the right.

Similarly, +Y should move the table TOWARDS the operator, since +Y is the "tool" moving towards the column.

Your Z is correct as +Z is up, away from the table. Later, "clockwise", or positive rotation of the spindle is viewed by looking towards Z+.

Hi,
I’m not certain that this photo was attached to my reply.

please post a fresh report.zip

when you press x+ the table should move to the left. if it isn't doing that you'll need to use the "direction reversal" feature in the Wizard.

if you have home to switches setup with the incorrect movement, then you have to fix those as well depending on where you want the home position to be.

be advised. do not try to use a probe without the basics setup and tested. you've got to get axis direction, movement amount, homing, travel limits all setup and test first before doing anything with a probe. adding a probe is the last thing you do. :D

Hi Keith,
Your instructions were very helpful. The 3D probe is now working correctly.
I have attached a report that I ran after I made the needed changes.
Thank you for your help!
Bob

hello. thanks for the fresh report.zip.

why do you have .6320 as the value for the overall turns ratio for X?
