Activating 4th, 5th and 6th axis and getting 5th and 6th on Virtual Jog Panel

Post by PrestonE »

Hello again,

We are trying to get the 4th Axis working and it is configured as the X,Y and Z Axis's that are
working fine, but we get no signal from the Board to the DMM DYN4 Drive.

Attached is the latest Report, and yes the 5th and 6 axis's are faulting as we do not have the
cables to attach to them yet. Just working with the first 4 axis's.

Any ideas?
Also, how do we get a 5th and 6th Axis Jog Button in the Virtual Jog Panel on the Computer Screen?

Best Regards,

Preston

You need to look at the VCP skinning guide for the changing of buttons etc. Fairly straight forward, just need to work through the process / detail and mapping of the keys.

When I added the 4th, 5th and 6th axes to my setup the +/- jog buttons appeared automatically on the VCP, I didn't need to manually edit the VCP skin file

Agreed, worth checking this before messing with VCP skinning (fall back option).

if you see steps counting up in the pid screen when jogging then Acornsix is sending the step and direction signal.
pid menu abs sol position.png
add the axes you want in the wizard and the wizard will add the job buttons to the vcp. and like mentioned, you can modify them if you want from there.
