Hello
I`m very new to centroid and I`m very confused if i have to connect my HBS860H drive to DB25 breakout or can i go straight to the screw terminals.
Has anybody wired this spefic controller?
I have seen 3 posts and Franco videos and still don`t have the answer.
I read the stepper documentation and it`s saying 5-24v signal, however on page 94 of centroid manual it states that "In Most, use DB25 step and direction.

My steppers are powered with 48v dc nema 34

Any advise is greatly appreciated.
Kris

Steppers are wired to the DB25.

So, why on Franco videos I see him wired into the screw terminals?

Because with some stepper drives it is working also, but not as smooth as on DB25.

Just because you saw a YouTube video doesn't make it true. For reference, I've seen Bigfoot videos on YouTube also. :D

If you want consistent, smooth and RELIABLE motion from those stepper drives they need to be wired to the DB-25. This is why Centroid states in the manual that stepper drives wire to the DB25 and servo drives wired to the headers.

The switch you have on the side that switches between 5 and 24 volts simply adds an internal resistor into the circuit to take the 24 volts back down to 5 volts internally. It's a 5 VOLT drive.
