how to program in Intercon

The material is 60x60x3mm rectangular tubing. I needed to cut the pictured radius and straight on each side of the tube.

I didn't have a long enough endmill to do it in one setup so I had to flip the material to do the bottom side. I tried to use the arc canned cycle to make the radius but it kept complaining to me so I switched to a circular pocket with no clean out. Then I just cut the straight cut with an angle grinder. :( I needed this part right away so I couldn't wait for you all to tell me how simple it would be and how dumb I am. All I did was flip the part and move the part zero to the opposite side to cut the radius for the bottom side. It wasn't efficient at all but I got it done. I had to make two of them. The radius is 62.5mm.

I just watched Keith's video on mill training again. I think I see what I would need to do. If I am not using cutter compensation do I still have to have a straight line before an arc?

An Arc move is not a canned cycle. It is more like "Rapid" and "Line": the arc begins wherever the previous operation left off.

Therefore, as a general rule, you will need a Rapid, and probably a Line or two, to get the cutter to where the arc begins.

Just a sample with a 12mm Endmill and no compensation.

Done in a minute, I love Intercon

Hope this helps to make it fit to your part
