Is there a CNC12 demo? <Answered>

I'm looking at a major refit of an older CNC router (TechnoCNC LC Series). I am looking at several options for software, controller, motors, etc. I have downloaded and installed copies of some of the competitors software interface programs. I want to do the same with CNC12. I downloaded the software, but the installation fails because I don't have an Acorn controller to pair it up with. Is there a way to explore this software before investing ina controller?

Uwe - many thanks for your reply. I'm still a little unsure which link on the page I should download. I tried this one:
https://www.centroidcnc.com/centroid_di ... taller.zip
but I can't unzip it because I get a "Path too long" error from Windows. (I'm running an up to date Windows 11 machine.)

After testing both the download trials along with full soft and hardware purchases over the last 15 years, I can tell you that you will be hard pressed to find one that out performs the Centroid Acorn. None have the quality of both user and factory tech based support that this forum offers.
FYI: There is a Centroid system builder in central WI (username Sword) that has retrofit various Techno routers and can offer you a prebuilt, preconfigured package, with matching motors, ready to install.

Regarding smooth motion control, no other DIY CNC comes close to Acorn or the other Centroid systems IMHO.
Acorn runs as smooth as expensive Industrial CNS like fanuc, Siemens, Mitsubishi...
