99% can be measured in Auto Mode, just turn on and touch.

You can detect a live line without touching, diode testing if you build a USB BOB housing...

I do like it better than my good Mulimeter, because of the convenience of use.

I like Aneng meters. You can also find them under the names "Zoyi" and "Zotek". One of those is the brand name of the factory that makes them.

They're built well enough and meet their given specifications. I have an AN8009 I bought before college. I'm not familiar with the pen format but it should do what it says on the tin.

I would caution against using them for higher power electronics or mains circuits. The design of the inputs on their typical meters are not all that well protected against surges and other hazardous conditions. They're great meters for working on logic and industrial signaling levels and lower voltage battery circuits.

Users who prefer a more traditional handheld meter format should look at the AN870 model (also reviewed on that site). Again, great for things like working with the USBBOB or other low energy circuits but do not expect the CAT IV rating to be true.
