Tree Journeyman 250 CNC
I bought this machine second hand with the retrofit already installed. It appears to be very well done and once I got it home everything worked perfectly with the control. It was running CNC 11 and I bought the KP-1 probe without knowing it did not have probing unlocked. I was a bit bummed but I ended up giving Centroid a call and upgraded to CNC12 PRO Mill. I followed the install instructions but something has gone wrong. I hate typing and would rather explain in video as it is easier to get my point across. I'll attach some pictures as well.

No wizard for ALLIN1DC. You will need to get into the manual and read about setting up the PLC. Did you get an updated PLC?. Open up the report file that is zipped and look at the file called report_0430181962_2025-06-04_20-01-59.txt. Starting at line 336 is a list of the parameters and how they are set. Along with the manual get a feel for what they are set to. It looks like the basics are there.
Someone who know that system better than I should be along shortly....

Re: Tree Journeyman 250 CNC
Thank you for the confirmation. I ended up making some good progress tonight. I figured out where to set home and direction towards home. Which is nice because I didn't like where it was homed previously. I was able to fumble around some of the othere configuration tabs and see where things are at but it's a bit intimidating. I definitely need to get into the manual more. I was able to run some operations cutting air and the machine appeared to be doing what it should be doing. The spindle did not automatically turn on like it did previously with CNC 11 so I need to look into that. I'd also like to indicate x,y, and z jogging to make sure it's accurate. And if it's not, find out where to make those corrections.lavrgs wrote: ↑Fri Jun 06, 2025 10:05 pm No wizard for ALLIN1DC. You will need to get into the manual and read about setting up the PLC. Re: Tree Journeyman 250 CNC
I have similar intimidation with my lathe, the ALLIN1DC takes time to get your head around.
It seems like the support team is a bit thin these days so hang in there.
Since I have a Tree I jumped in. although mine uses an Acorn.
The ALLIN1DC is a closed loop system, I would expect the accuracy will be a function of the encoders. There is a PID screed that can verify you have a once around pulse, which is used to accurately home the machine.
Do you know which PLC you are using? (filename.src) I see three in the report. It looks like the newest is from 2018. Since you went from cnc11 to 12 I would expect a PLC would have been included. Maybe CNCSNW can evaluate as he is the best resource.
I was looking for the homing file but I could not read it, (cncm.hom) will define where home is, Parameter 5 is set to 0, as it should be, so when you turn on your machine it would request to home the machine with cycle start. I assume the spindle is set to AUTO but it's possible a probe could inhibit from starting...

Re: Tree Journeyman 250 CNC
I'm thinking there is something wrong with your cncm.hom file. I was not able to open it and I checked mine and it is possible to open.
As a start try this in MDI...be ready to stop the machine if it goes the wrong way... My machine homes a bit differently because in Y my vise would hit. In order; the first axis should be Z, then Y then X. Be aware of directions; +/- Z will go up + , as mentioned my Y comes forward, which is -, and X moves the table to the right +. You need to think of the spindle motion not the table!!!
You can try typing these commands into MDI and if they work make a file called cncm.hom
NOTE TO MOVE IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION USE M91 - negative
M92/Z
M26/Z
M92/Y
M26/Y
M92/X
M26/X
I will go out to my machine to see what my file contents are. I use Zero Reference Indicator (ZRi) to accurately move to the same home position after hitting the limit switches...right now it would not help

Re: Tree Journeyman 250 CNC
One more thing - I don't see the Virtual Control Panel on your screen (VCP) Your setting for the monitor is too low it should be; Width 1920 Height 1080
Did you run the file that checks your computer and does some setup to work ideally (?) >>Centroid CNC PC Tuner?
Availaqble Here
https://www.centroidcnc.com/centroid_di ... loads.html
Where are you located
Where is the support staff...? do they get the weekends off 9-)

Wow! That worked! I had to tweak it a bit but just did my first Macro! We are homed. Now I just gotta figure out spindle.lavrgs wrote: ↑Sun Jun 08, 2025 6:32 pm I'm thinking there is something wrong with your cncm.hom file. I was not able to open it and I checked mine and it is possible to open.

Re: Tree Journeyman 250 CNC
Did you get the VCP on screen? The spindle can be controlled from there. Of course the MDI can be used to start/stop.
M03 S500;
- M03 – Turns the spindle on clockwise.
- M04 – Turns the spindle on counterclockwise.
- M05 – Turns the spindle off.
- S500 – Sets the spindle speed to 500 RPM (you can adjust the number for different speeds)
I'm not sure how to set the spindle to Auto without the VCP. It does need to be in Auto to run programs.
