Homing with axis squaring will not finish

Post by Salted_Pork »

On my cnc router, yesterday it worked, today it does not. See attached report.

It does z, x, then on Y it begins the squaring routine, unpairs the axis, then just cancels the program leaving the axis unpaired.

Any idea what is going on?

See Tech Bulletin 270, you have communication errors between Acorn and your PC. This certainly doesn't help issues.

Your inputs are not set up correctly for axis pairing and squaring, have a look at the axis pairing manual again.

Lastly, you are also running a old version of CNC12 with known issues and is no longer supported. I'd recommend you install the latest version of CNC12 and then run the PC tuner and stress test on your system. I'd do this FIRST so you start fresh with the latest software that is supported and set up the auto squaring inputs properly.

i agree, there has been axis pairing and squaring improvements since v5.08, download v5.30 its a free download your old license file works with the new software.

open v5.08 Wizard, press CTRL P. save the PDF.
copy the entire cncm directory to a thumb drive
run the v5.30 installer, follow instructions.
open the v5.30 Wizard, open the PDF made in step one, hand enter the data in the PDF into the Wizard, press write settings to CNC control and follow the instructions.

How can you tell that I have communication errors?

What's wrong with the inputs?

Again this was working fine for the past year or so.

The newer versions of axis pairing doesn't care if it hits the master or slave first. It will work either way.

If your pc did an update or is trying to do an update, virus program, power saving, ect... it may cause it to stop working what once was. It would be worth running the pc tuner, if you have not tried that yet.

There is an error log included in reports.
