Hello, I have a new acorn controller with THC that I am connecting to an existing Plasma table. I am having a issue that I am unable to make any of the steppers to move. The only thing that I can find is under the Wizard at the end of the print out it tell me to select an IO Preset Configuration, the Currently Loaded IO Preset: Bench Test, How do I change this at the top under Select a Axis Motor Drive Configuration, Currently Loaded Axis Motor Drive: Gecko Drives.

Hello and welcome to the forums!

This is most likely a wiring error between the stepper drivers and the ACORN assuming the stepper drives and motors were working with the previous controller.

* What stepper drives do you have?

* Was there a particular schematic you were following?

* Are the rotors of the stepper motors locked or loose when powered on?

Please post pictures of the wiring to the drives, Acorn, and of the cabinet as a whole.

Also, we require a fresh report.zip from CNC12 so we can see and test your exact software configuration.

The steppers that I am using are Automaticion Technology KL 34H260-60-4A Nema 34.
the schematic that I was following was S15179.
The motors are loose when Off but Locked when On.

You have the step/direction output wired to the screw terminal on the board and not the DB25 connector. I believe the geiko drive profile requires the DB25 connector. You may try another profile. Like stepperonline or delta

Judging by the pic you uploaded you are not following schematic S15179 because you have the stepper drives hooked to the Acorn headers and the diagram clearly shows them wired to the DB25. Those drives will not work wired the way you have them now. Look at the diagram again and follow the step, direction and common lines off the drive. See where they go?

Here’s the link for the DB25 connector you need for those drives to work.

Thank you, I have rewired using the db25 pin connector and the motors are working.

Awesome, great news. Now it's time to dial in the turns ratio and get it cutting. Good luck.
