Separate Input Power Supply

I looked in the Acorn manual and also did some searching here on the board but haven't seen this question addressed.
Is it OK if I provide +24VDC from a separate power supply to the input H4 terminal? (the common would also be separate).
I have Acorn powered by the included Meanwell power supply and plan on only letting it provide main power to Acorn.
The reason being is that this is a retrofit application where a 24VDC power supply along with the limit switches, homing switches, etc. are already wired to DIN rail terminal strips and are already setup to "sink" the input to 0VDC COM. If I'm able to leave these terminal strips wired as they are it will save a lot of time vs. rewiring everything.
