Software download impossible from France <Resolved>

Hello I can't download the last software from France but other local downloads are possible I guess the restrictions necessary to make the software work block some settings thank you for your help.

Hi Daniel,

Centroid does not have any region blocks in place for Software Downloads. Some regions can't purchase products due to US Export Restrictions but France is not included in that list.

What file were you trying to download and did it give you an error message?

If your Internet connection is unstable, then I could see the download being interrupted and failing at some point. In those cases, a download manager is the best solution. I have used Free Download Manager in the past for this purpose.

The error message is: https://centroidcnc.com/centroid_diy/ac ... oller.html est inaccessible.

I also tried to download Firefox but it was impossible, the message is the same.

If you get an error for a 3rd party site, surely the issue is local to you and your PC? Cant be a Centroid issue ...

That appears to be a DNS error and is an issue with your Internet provider. You can try substituting 192.145.237.83 for "centroidcnc.com" and see if that works.

If you are trying to download directly on your CNC12 PC, you need two ethernet adapters in the machine. One to connect to the Acorn, and one to connect to the Internet. CNC12 setup changes the IP address of your ethernet adapter to connect to the Acorn. Because of this you need a separate ethernet connection to the Internet.

In that case, try the IP address I posted earlier. If that fails, it's probably because some entity on your side if the pond is blocking access.

It does seem there is some kind of propagation issue with centroidcnc.com DNS, it's loading in most countries but with occasional issues with German and China servers. The quickest work around would be to manually set a working DNS server on your PC, which would avoid the "ERR_ADDRESS_UNREACHABLE" message while I work out why the DNS records aren't working 100% World-wide.

I would recommend Cloudflare DNS for this.

Edit: Tom's solution of accessing the website from the IP address would work but some links would be broken from this approach as not all links are relative (I.E. /path/file.ext links would work but centroidcnc.com/path/file.ext links would not). So please try the DNS server change.
