It sound like Hunt for Red October but my lathe.



I did a knowledge base search on this forum for "sound" and "alarm." No joy.

Whatever this is, is doesn't show up in the log. The horrid sound follows the end of a GCODE instruction set, then the machine proceeds to suicide past the Z stop.

Thank you so much for the guidance, this is all newly assembled and configured so I'm still learning and appreciate being shepherded into the community.

Here is a fresh report on the machine.

Sounds / looks like the Z stepper stalling. You can see what looks like it wedging / slowing down (look at the bottom most part of the saddle) just before it makes the sound.

Remove the ballscrew, move by hand, is it free in that area?
