Another THC question
I am hoping I will be able to get my issue solved, Ive looked everywhere and unable to find much information on the thc not working properly. Probable because the thc doesn’t act up much is what Im figuring. Which leads me to feel its something Im not doing or overlooking. My plasma works great and cuts very clean, the only issue Im having is the THC doesn’t take control of the Z axis and will adjust accordingly. I am using open loop steppers. For the z axis is a 600oz 8 wire 3.5 amp 72v. Table has 900oz 8 wire nema 34 with 3:1 gear reduction. The plasma cutter is Primeweld cut60. The Z axis has 3 proximity sensors working as a float, was unable to get it to function with a breakaway. Although once it touches off it still acts as a break away. Everything works as I feel it should with the exception of the thc that I feel I am overlooking a setting or something along those lines. I did the pre voltage 10v check before ever connecting the plasma source. I set the cut height to .09 which it gave me a better cut and I feel its only because the thc isnt working yet. I also performed the calibration on the axis and were good. I just cant for the life of me figure it out. I am sending the zip file, I appreciate any guidance on this. Thanks

Re: Another THC question
Ive ran the tests given in the manual and the voltage reads true. Im thinking it may have been possible to have burnt something out on the board. When I connected the cpc cable to the cutter it fried my cnc board on the cutter. I have since replaced the card with a new one. Now I feel it very well could have burnt something out. Everything works and cuts just fine on .25 material at book setting. I run the torch test it touches off and go to 1 inch. The file with centroid the hook it cuts just fine on .25 as soon as I put 18 ss plate on it, it will go through the steps touch off go to cut height pierce then go to cut height. I had to change the height to .09 due to the torch not adjusting. Im at a lose here. Ive built 8 tables and this is the first to give me this issue, new to me.

Re: Another THC question
If the THC is reading True then I'm surprised the THC is not reacting.
Does setting the profile to smart sense make any difference?

Re: Another THC question
Joey thanks for your reply, I never tried that setting, always left it with automatic. I will try that setting now and be right back

Re: Another THC question
Checked out your report and I wasn't able to find any plot capture from a Job.
Can you turn the Plot on in the utility menu and make a couple cuts.
This will capture a THC plot at the end of every cut. You should see the created plots in the cncm folder. They will have the date and time in the file name.
Then attach the plots from the cncm folder on a reply so we can see what the THC is ready during the cut.

Re: Another THC question
Good news kenny
Your THC plot looks great as far as voltage reading.
I see Orange anti dive was enabled after the Green thc voltage rose past 7% of the purple target voltage. Thats normal.
I also see the white thc ctrl enable stayed at 0 the whole cut so THC was not enabling.
This has to be either a velocity issue or something since everything in the plot looks like THC should enable. I'm still looking into it

Re: Another THC question
Much appreciated, when I check it shows enable on the second pop up window when setting parameters. Is there a secondary setting? This is a fresh install, if that makes a difference. It cuts beautiful on .18 a thicker. Holes are off by .01 which for what we do is good. The table will be used to make parts for competition bbq trailers and custom pits. Company I work for is venturing off into the competition scene. Been building pits for 100 years now
