USB - BOB - Question
3-axis mill. Acorn. Mpg.
It is obvious that BOB over rides xyz axis while not running gcode. And it also over rides each axis federate per click on the knob .001-.010-.100 upon selection. My interest in it is to over ride the actual feed rate during gcode. Saying I’m running code and the feed is too fast and can a grab a knob the twist it back to slower to save a crash. Or turn the knob to gain feed rate say if I just set feed rate too slow. And can I turn another knob to slow the spindle speed during gcode say it’s chattering and I need to calm things down. I’m not a production shop but just a hobbyist and it would be easier to tweak a knob and keep running rather than go back into fusion and redo cam since I’m on a single custom part
Can I
1. Over ride feed during gcode
2. Over ride spindle speed during gcode
3. I know my mpg does this but it’s a bit cumbersome to select the selection in an instant
4. If this can be done. does the mpg work as well as the knob. Or is the mpg function lost when the knob exists
I may think of more things but tyia for replies

Re: USB - BOB - Question
The BOB can do the same thing like the WMPG and more.

Re: USB - BOB - Question
So I can use the BOB to control feed and speed during gcode with enclosure panel knobs
And still use the wmpg as I always have for xyz movement and cycle start/stop and tool check as usual ?

Re: USB - BOB - Question
Thank you Keith.
Are his Speed and Feed knobs anything specially named or linked anywhere? Or in the kit
Also BOB is a kit but since I only desire those pictured knobs is the kit available as separate pieces since I don’t wish to use the knobs associated with axis movement. Or are they usable in another type of other useful action.

Re: USB - BOB - Question
three encoder knobs are included with the usb-bob kit, each encoder knob is the same.Eric2cycle wrote: ↑Tue Apr 01, 2025 9:51 pmThank you Keith.

the function of each knob is by default pre programmed by the Wizard , the default functions are: Rapid Override, Spindle Speed Override, Feedrate Override. each knob has a programmable push button built into it (just push the knob in you will hear/feel a distinct click). The default function of the encoder knobs is determined by the PLC program, the PLC program is open source , human readable and editable therefore the function of each knob can be customized if desired.
