Does this look like a good CNC PC?

Hi
I found this NUC for a little over $100.
The CPU score is over 2000. But it’s listed on the laptop page. I didn’t know if that was a deal breaker.

What do you think?

It’s going to be on a lathe if that is important

Thanks!
Mike

Hi Mike,

That Intel NUC should be fine for CNC12 use.

Centroid does not recommend Laptop form factors due to energy saving settings that are sometimes hidden away in the BIOS and may interfere with USB and networking, however 'Energy Efficient CPUs' like most Intel processors that end in U/P/T should be fine as long as they meet or exceed the minimum 1500 single core CPU score.

Be sure to follow TB309 and run the PC Tuner once you receive your new PC.
