Dual head machine.
Hello and thank you for having me. I am building a plasma table with acorn and am interested in adding an extra z axis for basic milling. It's a large, robust table that can support the workload. Dual servo motors on the Y axis and a single servo on the X axis. Steppers on the Z axis. Can I just run both acorn cnc and acorn plasma and set them up on the same machine? Wire both z axis up to different Stepper outputs and when you fire up plasma it uses the plasma Z axis and when you fire up CNC it uses the spindle z axis? Just spitballing here. Thanks for your time.

Re: Dual head machine.
Yes that is possible. There is currently a plasma / router swap option in the installer for easy switching between versions.

Re: Dual head machine.
you can wire both Z-axis motors to different stepper outputs on the Acorn controller. When you switch between the plasma and CNC modes, you can configure the controller settings accordingly to select the appropriate Z-axis motor for the operation at hand. For example, you can set up the system so that when you run the plasma mode, it uses the plasma Z-axis motor, and when you switch to CNC mode, it utilizes the spindle Z-axis motor for milling operations.

Re: Dual head machine.
Are there any schematics that show the set up for a dual head?
