Re: Acorn carousel atc
After messing with it a bit more today I have narrowed it down to carousel in output is not staying latched after the umbrella meets the spindle. If I manually operate the pilot on solenoid the toolchanger works perfectly and completes the cycle very strange the solenoid is brand new as well.. is this a software issue??

Re: Acorn carousel atc
The Acorn PLC program assumes a dual-coil solenoid valve with detents (or 3-position spring-to-center with closed center). It turns off the "ATC_CarouselIn" solenoid output as soon as it sees the carousel as advanced; and later turns on the "ATC_CarouselOut" solenoid output when it needs to retract the carousel out of the way.
Since your machine apparently has a single-coil solenoid that returns to the "retract out" position as soon as you turn off the "advance in" coil, you will need to make changes to the PLC logic in the carousel in/out section of your PLC program.

Re: Acorn carousel atc
Thanks for the help that makes sense. Would it make more sense to put a dual coil solenoid?

Re: Acorn carousel atc
Does anyone know if I need closed or pressure or exhaust center valve for this application?

Re: Acorn carousel atc
I would use a two-position detented valve, so that the center state is not particularly important.
If you have to use a three-position spring-to-center valve, a closed center would probably be best, to improve the chances that the carousel will stay put after the coil is turned off.
