DC1 Drive Logic Power Connection

Another technician called yesterday, and mentioned that he or his customer had damaged a couple DC1 drives through mis-wiring of the logic power connection.
They had used the factory-supplied logic power cable (16 AWG 4-conductor) and had mixed up the WHT and RED connections at the power supply, so they had the RED wire connected to +12V instead of to +5V as intended.
This seems like a good time to point out that the DC1 does not use or need the +12V connection, nor does it need a 16 gauge 4-conductor cable for logic power. The DC1 manual specifications list the 5V logic power input as 0.3A.
If you are using the factory-supplied cable, you can cut off and remove the WHT and GRN strands (pins 1 and 2 of the connector) and use only the BLK and RED strands (pins 3 and 4).
If you have supplies for AMP Commercial Mate-n-Lok connectors, then you can make your own logic power pigtail, using suitably sized wire (maybe MTW, between 18 and 22 AWG).
Here is one of my typical installations, using 22AWG MTW for the 5V logic power supply: Connector parts:
