Hi, about half way through my Allin1dc installation and have got as far as fine tuning the DRO's. As the default machine unit setting was inches I calibrated the machine in inches. However as 99% of my jobs will be in metric with the occasional job in inches I set the DRO units to metric.
I notice in the Intercon programming manual it says its recommended to have both machine and DRO units the same. Should I re calibrate the DRO's in metric or does it not matter? I'm in the UK and we just don't do much in inches any longer. My guess is as long as the DRO units are the same as the units the programme was written in it should work.
Thanks Neil

Re: Machine/DRO units
You should set both DRO and Machine units the same to avoid confusion.
With you current settings the machine will run in inches and display in metric...If you command "G0 x1" in MDI right now the machine will rapid to 1 inch and the display will show" X +25.4"
All your metric jobs will need a "G21" if you want the control to interpret the commands in metric.
