Dialing in Lathe Tools

Please be kind I am completely new to lathe work. I have read /seen many posts/videos about tool offset as I can find but am still not 100% clued in.

I have the master tool on a Hardinge CHNC measured so that it cuts the proper diameter. My T03 is cutting 0.018 off. Can it be adjusted with a simple number change in the offset table? I am assuming that the 0,0 location of the master tool has been defined.

My problem child is a parting/grooving tool T07 that only parts...8-(

Hardinge makes a tool that sits in the spindle and has a flat on center on the end away from the spindle. I would like to use this for real time adjustment. Are changes to the Offset table reflected immediately? I would load T07 and set it to go to X0, adjacent to the mentioned Hardinge tool to get an idea of how far off. then change the offset value. This would be for a coarse adjustment as I expect the offset value is off by a lot.
Is there a written procedure to verify tool offsets. I can make test cuts and measure.

The other end of the Hardinge tool has a post that I use to setup 5/8" dia tool holder on my manual lathe. I want to use it to measure offsets in these type holder on the CHNC. I would move to X0 and align the post to the hole then tighten the tool holder to the turret.
And finally the T08 is a two hole version I have no idea how to deal with two offsets. It must be similar to gang tooling. How do I define that T08 has 2 positions?

A couple points of clarification; I have an ALLIN1DC and an eight position turret. My question on gang tooling would only apply to position 8. I was wondering of you could have T0801 and T0802...two different offsets.
Thanks for the pointers

Yes, but you might want to reserve offsets 01 and 02 for turret positions 01 and 02.

Maybe use offsets 08 and 09 for your multiple tools in position 8 (i.e. "T0808" and "T0809").

I'm going to have to answer my own question - all the tool setting vids are great starters but my question related to changing values in the offset table.
Yes you can modify the x value of a tool to go deeper.

sure you can write another x value or switch to incr. to write only the desired change

It is also possible to use Tool Wear for fine adjusting.
