Hello
I finally got my machine running on Centroid, preparing to install the probe.
The pendant is awesome!
Cnc12 has allot of probing option.
My question is ...how would one probe the attached pic?
So the holes, walls inside and out.
What is the sequence? because you can probe walls and holes but in the end how to combine them?
How would you probe this?

Re: How would you probe this?
probe a bore, set X0Y0 at the center of the bore then go probe the other bores.
then use Contour or Wall following to pick up the outside contour, or you can just probe a few key individual points and fill it in in your CAD system.
see Adam's video on how he does it.

I would not try to probe a step file...

Re: How would you probe this?
Hello
I have finally got my probe going and I am testing it out.
2 questions still if I setup do a wall following on number 3 (attached pic) it ask to jog to a start point.
how would I know which way the probe is going to go and where would I setup do a inside or outside wall following ? only at single z depth line not multiple?
attached a pic of 4 holes I want to probe.
One thing I do not understand is how would I probe the 4 holes and combine it into 1 file ?
Thank you!

Re: How would you probe this?
The measurements are stored in the cncm\probe_cycles_history.txt file. Centroid even created a tool to help w/ handling this file (ProbeCyclesHistory.exe).

Re: How would you probe this?
Tnx going to look into it.
There are a few things I still do not understand.
The probing works but like I said in the contour menu at step number 3 it asks to jog to the start point.
So I jog where I think I want it to start it goes the other way...so now I just leave it in the center and start.
dig to cad ...when I select the files nothing happens according to the manual it should ask where to save but I get none of this...
so now I need to open the files with notepad and modify to get the numbers since I do not need this
X1.7116 Y0.0000 Z0.0000
I just need
1.7116 ,0.0000 ,0.0000
point me in the right direction.
Thanks!
