Converted my Bridgeport Mill to the Centroid Allin1DC in 2018/19 and installed the CNC12 software which I think was vs 4.14
Late last year I installed the latest version 5.22 (which I didnt really need to do) but was not aware of the 50Kb file size restriction . Whilst am not using the machine professionally, I do use file sizes bigger than this. I cant justify the cost to upgrade to PRO. ($550)
Can I convert back to my previous version ?

Yes, you should be able to look in the C: drive root and find a folder named "cncm" and at least one other with a name that starts with "cncm_backup" followed by a date code. The date code will be the date you installed 5.22.

It may look something like this: First, close the CNC12 software.
Rename the "cncm" folder to something like "cncm_5-22".
Then, rename the newest "cncm_backup" that you know is your 4.14 install to "cncm".

Open CNC12. It will write the PLC to the ALLIN1DC and prompt you to power cycle the ALLIN1DC as well as close and reopen the software.

Sorry, I made a mistake there. The ALLIN1DC version does not create those backups during the install process. Your best bet is to:

Get the correct installer from this page https://www.centroidcnc.com/centroid_di ... loads.html

Find the report you loaded in to the 5.20 installation. This appears to be a report from October 14th of 2024. There also seems to be one from October 21st. Use whichever has the correct and working configuration for your machine.

I would suggest keeping a backup of the installation of the new version so rename your current "cncm" directory to "cncm_5-22" or similar.

Run the 4.14 installer and then load that report you located previously. Close the software and power cycle the ALLIN1DC as requested by CNC12.

FWIW, as far as I know, if you had a working license with CNC12 v4.14 (which allowed you to run programs over 50kB; to create Intercon programs over 22 operations; to use subprograms and macros and multiple WCS, etc.) then you are entitled to purchase the "Legacy Pro Upgrade" at a reduced cost.

The cost depends on how close to the v4.16 release date your control was shipped.

I attempted to load the CNC12 v4.14 but it is asking for a PERMANENT UNLOCK code? I only have the codes supplied with the original install from 6 years ago so am unable to load the 5.20 report file. So stuck again i'm afraid ??

The permanent unlock code should be among the software unlock codes you received at the time of initial purchase (unlock #298).

It, and all your other software unlock codes, would be in your recent Report files from v4.14. Look in the c:\cncm\reportbackup folder for automatic backups that were created by CNC12 on startup once per week. Restore the last one from before the v5.2x update.

Sorry, I should have been more clear. You should load the latest working report from the v4.14 version as cncsnw said. I would expect this to be the one used to bring your configuration to the 5.20 install but it may not be.

Just to say thank you for all your assistance. I am now sorted. Have upgraded to the 'PRO' version at the discount rate which gives me unlimited file size plus the other features (digitizing) that I will make use of.
