all in 1 plc error code

Post by 1936hotrod »

purchased a new all in 1dc for my mill since the old all in 1dc was getting old and kinda glitchy . thought it would be a direct replacement fit but i was wrong .most of the wiring is different .i keep getting a error code number 1 on the led board saying the voltage is bad but the power supply is good which came with the new plc and the output on the supply going to the board is good. all fuses good also . any suggestions would be helpful . :)

If the Allin1DC displays a steady "1", without the decimal point, then it is working normally without any errors.

If the Allin1DC displays a flashing "1" and the decimal point is lit, then there is a problem with the logic power supply.

Thank you. It was a solid light , I was getting worried about not hooking up something up not correctly. I’ve been chasing down a spindle fault code error since I installed it and it won’t let me home the machine. Rechecked vfd and everything looks correct but I don’t know what to check. The hookup from the previous all in 1 looks the same on the old and new blueprint. The vfd wires that was on the other all in 1 are still attached to the vfd and according to the vfd schematic are going to the correct locations on the board. Just don’t much about electronics and makes me nervous about frying something. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Post a Report and a picture of the Alt-i PLC Diagnostic display.

I am confused by your statement "most of the wiring is different". Either you did not start out with an Allin1DC (maybe you had a DC3IOB instead?), or your definition of "most" is a little different from mine. So far as I know, the only differences between a first-generation Allin1DC and a current one are:
1) The logic supply and its 120VAC connection are different (RQ-65D vs. micro-ATX).
2) The limit defeater DIP switches are different (blue with ON = down vs. black with ON = up).

sorry i maybe have said the wording wrong on the wiring is different statement just in different locations . going from the old blueprint to the new blue print was to me different on some of the names and colors of the wires. i thought i could just swap out the wires to the new locations but seems to be slightly different. i didn't wire the old one i had elrod machine shop make me a complete mill with the controls installed so in not really familiar with the unit . sorry for the confusion i am defiantly not up one on electronics part and dont know anyone in the area that is familiar with centroid.

The old cover plate is from a DC3IO unit.

The new cover plate is from an Allin1DC unit.

Those are entirely different devices. The DC3IO is used with a separate motion control board (usually a CPU10), connected to the DC3IO via optical fibers. The Allin1DC has the motion control CPU built in.

The DC3IO provides a 5VDC supply for the most common PLC inputs (limit switches, emergency stop, low lube, spindle fault). The Allin1DC requires an external power supply for all PLC inputs.
