CNC7 M39 USB issue

Post by -kiraly- »

Hello,

I hope I'm posting this question to the right part of the forum.

So i have an M39 control with a Dos based pc that's running CNC7 v7.5 something.
The issue is that its stuck loading the USB drivers before boot.

The attached image is the screen that its stuck on.

I've looked at the folder using the dos menu and it all seems to be there properly. The problem appeared suddenly without warning. One moment it worked fine and the next i can't even boot it anymore using the USB driver option.

Please help me figure this out as any technitian I've called said that i should just upgrade because they don't want to work or know how to work with dos. 😭
Thanks

Update:
I bought a cf card reader and replaced the dosusb20/usbdisk.sys file with another that i found on the flash drive we keep using, and it got past the problem of trying to load those drivers.
However, now it's stuck loading the centroid module.

This time i don't have any context clues as to where to begin looking.
What is it exactly loading when it's saying this? Which files?
Could this be a hardware issue afterall?
Thanks

Centroid's standard DOS CNC7 system has no message that says "Loading Centroid CNC Modules".

Therefore, that message must be coming from the startup menus that some earlier dealer/technician/user added, probably called from either the CONFIG.SYS or AUTOEXEC.BAT files.

For comparison, you can find attached the CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT files that Centroid used with a typical DOS CNC7 v8.23 installation.
