I currently updated to the new acorn software’s version. I got most everything running but when i try to copy my m6 file to the directory it will work till i close and reopen cnc12 it is gone. Also in the wizard it will not let me change my homing on my x to not home in place… I save and restart everything and go back in it is back to home in place…
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
thanks
Tim

It sounds like you may have your config setup incorrectly. Open the wizard, and look for the selection to indicate you have a custom macro.

Mike is correct, in the wizard there is a slider setting under the ATC section to tell CNC12 you have a “custom” mfunc6 and to not overwrite it. Until you change this it will overwrite your M6 every time you launch the software. It’s not Windows doing this but CNC12.
There’s also a section on homing and you can select various option there also. This information is in the install manual.
If you want further help you must upload a current report from your machine so we can see your configuration and suggest the changes you need.

Thanks for the reply.... I will get a report uploaded today after work. In the wizard I can change my homing to home to a switch and not home in place. But that will not stay, after saving and rebooting everything, X goes back to home in place the Y and the Z works fine, It has been up and running for years work right, it just been after the update the X will not change and save.
Big Thanks for the info.
Tim

Select the right Homing Type first
Common is Automatic Homing

Here is a report file.
I got the m6 to stay. Thanks for the help.
I still can not get it to save my changes to the x home, It will always revert back to home in place. I have changed back to the 5.0 and it homes fine but when I go back to 5.2.... x will not home.

Compare the input settings in the Wizard to 5.10
You did set First axis Home Limit OK for the first axis, your x axis

Your homing inputs are not set up correctly for a router. Set them up as:
FirstAxisHomeLimitOk is Input 1
SecondAxisHomeLimitOk is Input 2
ThirdAxisHomeLimitOk is Input 3
X is first, Y is second and Z is third.
Then set up your soft limits in the wizard for your maximum travel.
You also have some outputs incorrect. You should remove SpinREV as you'll never spin a router in reverse. Also your overall turns ratio is way outside the sweet spot for a router. You should definitely consider some gearboxes or gear reduction of some sort. According to your report you are basically at 1 turn per inch.

Are you using "restore report" when you change to the new version?
