Control not starting

Post by gbeav »

M400 control (serial number 2503) gets to this point and won't go any farther. Would like to get this supermax up and running again. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check the heat sink and cooling fan on the CPU socket. Sometimes the plastic heat sink brackets break, causing the CPU to overheat within a minute or so after power-on.

Also try reseating or replacing the memory DIMM(s), and inspect the motherboard for swollen or leaking capacitors.

PS: 2503 does not make sense as a system serial number. Is yours perhaps 5203? That would have been a 1996-1997 Supermax with that style of keyboard, and a mini-tower PC.
