Hey everyone! I recently acquired a Dyna Myte 2400:

This seems to be a well built little machine for it's size. When it first came to me all of it's old electronics were stripped off. I fabricated some mounts for NEMA 23 motors. I also reworked a control box that I had to work with this machine. So far, so good. The only issue I have so far is the spindle is spinning faster than commanded. For example if I command 10k RPM I get 15k using a tach. Still scratching my head a bit on that one.

This spindle does have three gears on it, I have the gear ratios set in the wizard, perhaps I need to mess with those a little more.

Here's a video of the machine:

Making some more progress:

Spindle is working, and I rigged up a coolant/IPA mister as well. I'll make some chips over the weekend. I even mounted up a small vice to it as well.

Hi,

This is awesome. I'm curious what you did for programmatic spindle speed control? Also working on hacking a DM2400 but I'm very new to milling.

I used a little motor speed controller I got from Amazon. Nothing fancy, it was something that handled the 80v motor and tool 0-10 volts for a control signal.
