File Sharing - Using Bluetooth

Some time ago I posted looking for ways to share files between my "Acorn" computer and another computer that I run Fusion 360 on. I wanted a way to share the g-code created in Fusion 360 with "Acorn" computer, without connecting the Acorn computer to WIFI.

At the time, the solution was to use a flash drive connected to a switch that allowed me to switch which computer was connected to the flash drive. This worked fine when the computers were physically close together, but I recently moved them further apart.

My latest solution is to use Bluetooth to share files between the two computers. I used it all day today and it worked great. I have included the directions to setup Bluetooth for file sharing below. Once the computers are connected to Bluetooth, you may get an error that says you do not have the correct credentials to share the files. I have listed the solution for this as well.

When I originally set this up, it did not ask me for the password to access the other computer. Then one day it did (Got to love Windows). If it does, just enter it once and it will remember it the next time. The password is the password you use to login to the computer it is trying to connect with. If you don't know the username, here is how to find it:

-Press the Windows key + R to open a run dialog.
-Type CMD then enter to get a command prompt.
-Type whoami then press enter.
-Your username will be displayed.

Best of luck... Richard
