Hi .. I'm new here and a complete beginner

I just have one simple question ..

Is there supposed to be continuity between
V1 (+5v ) and earth ground on the meanwell rd-35b psu ?

Any info would be great appreciated..
Please thanks

On the PSU at my desk between V1 and Earth i have no continuity. Between V1 and COM yes. Do you have anything connected? Maybe something tying COM to Earth?

Thank you for yhe reply Mattwo...
Yes I have the whole system connected..
I used the schematic for multiple stepperonline CL86T... everything is wired up accordingly but motors not turning and I'm trouble shooting... noticed continuity where I thought there shouldn't be and thought I'd ask ..I ordered another meanwell rd-35b just incase mine is faulty
I will check tomorrow if something is tying com to Earth.. thank you again for your reply

Test the Pinout of the supplied cables, I have had one case the colors mixed up.

The supplied cables for my motors ?
Or the the supplied cables for the Meanwell rd-35b?

The ones for the Stepper...

... if they are mixed up on the stepper drive, the stepper will not run.

Ok, I will double check all the wires

I received my meanwell rd-35b pre-wired from centroid
Com has a jumper to Earth ground..
So if on your bench test .. com and V1 have continuity .. then it would make sense why I have continuity between V1 and Earth..

Now my question is.. is my meanwell rd-35b pre-wired incorrectly??

I've attached pics .. what you see is how I received it..minus the wire on V1

Please advise
Thanks

The wiring is ok. You can also see it in any schematics with the RD35B

What does continuity mean? COM and earth are supposed to be connected and have very low resistance (<1ohm). With the power off and V1 disconnected, COM and V1 will show a high resistance (>1K ohm).

If you have low resistance (<1 ohm) between your disconnected V1 wire and COM you have a short in your wiring. If you have low resistance between COM and the V1 terminal when no wire is connected then you have a bad power supply.

What is the voltage between COM and V1 with the wire disconnected and the PSU powered?
