Hopefully, more to come soon. (And, no, I still haven't opened up that box of parts, Gary.

I will try to keep this thread updated with new videos as I get things done. Next will be parts unboxing and following the initial test procedures as outlined in the Acorn manual.

Gene...
One thing to be mindful of is the increased torque on the PRT frame. The AS911s had ~550 ozin at the shaft, ~1100 ozin linear force with a 20T pinion. The SB alpha 7.2's were 1268 or 1690 linear with a 30T pinion. The Closed Loop setup you have purchased are: 438 * 5 = 2190 shaft or 3650 ozin linear with a 24T pinion. Over 6 times the torque of your original and over double what the SB 7.2s put out. So, make sure that your V rollers are in good shape and adjusted properly.
You should also notice substantially better cut quality due increased step resolution. More than triple your OEM 911s and over double that of the 7.2s

Thanks for the head's up Gary! I'll add that check to my todo list.
Someone asked about the backlash on the gearboxes, and I seem to recall you mentioning somewhere that it was around 0.0005? Is that correct?
tnx!

Gene ..
I can't remember the exact number when new, but Scott W has been using them for 5 years plus in a commercial environment and says backlash is unmeasurable on his PRS so far.

The backlash from the tech sheet is usually the max in worst case. Most gearboxes from ok suppliers have less.
